Preparation for the day

on Friday, October 27, 2006

Upon request by WC, it's probably a good idea to share with you my preparation for "the" day.... "THE" day???? Sounds like a big day hor....No No No....it's NOT my wedding day :) It's just day where I got to get up as early as 5am (even harder when it's a Sunday), heading down to Esplanade and participate the yearly marathon organized by Standard Chartered, running for 10km. Good idea to share because it may become a "boost" to me so that I'll make sure I can achieve it...otherwise...pai seh mah...everybody knew about it right?

In actual fact, I wasn't really serious into preparing it BUT it has been an ongoing, frequent run in the past couple of month. A slight achievement is that, running for approx 7km is no longer a pain as before. The ache is not as bad either. Having said that, in 2 days time, I will have to get up early again, head down to Esplanade for the All Womens 10km run organized by Great Eastern.

I did not really prepared as much as I wanted to for this run. Initially, I was pretty active for like 2 months. Uh....just to elaborate a little bit more...."Active" includes exercising 5 times a week that includes running of course, strength training, swimming and aerobics. WOH!!! Looking back, I'm impressed. I can't believe that I have been consistently doing that for 2 months..haha. WC must be wondering why I never loose weight hor?!!! Actually a bit have lah, can see some improvement in the abs too and......uh...think I shall not go any further...pai seh :P. But after 2 weeks of sickness, the spirit kind of died down. I'm back to the usual fun runners. Abs become flabby again...muahahahaha....As the saying goes, it takes month and even years for someone to walk the right path, but it takes only 3 day for someone to go the wrong path. The same goes for me. How true!!! Anyway, I think I should be fine this Sunday, given that this is going to be my 3rd time doing a 10km run.

Last Dec std chart 10km -> 1:21 hr
Jul Shape10k run -> 1:17hr
Oct Great Eastern 10k-> I dunno but even 1 min improvement is consider as improvement right :)
Dec Std chart 10k -> Lagi dunno

But I'm really hoping that I will do better in the year end run but before that, got to get fitter first haiz......

Will keep you people update......More to come..............
