I dun want to fall sick

Shortly after having a dinner buffet at Goodwood Park, I went home feeling chilled, headache and off to bed right after I reached home.

That was a departmental dinner that my boss have been trying hard to get everyone in it. It was a good gathering. Everyone was having either a cocktail, red wine or tiger beer with them. Boss is pestering me to take one. I ended up....ordering a mocktail of fruit punch :) which cost $9 for a small little glass. Cut my flesh lah if I were ask to pay for such drinks.

Today, I hesitated to come to work. Still feeling chilled and headache with sorethroat. But I'm always on "best service" award loh. I don't know why. Unless I'm real sick, I'll be guilty of taking mc. I'm totally wrong!! My head is feeling heavier now, I wearing 2 layers of clothe with the bright sunny light shining right on my back and my limbs feeling weak.

I don't want to fall sick leh...I have a run taking place this Sun. Must go :(

I shall go take mc.......and zzzzzzz

Back after 10 years

When I got the job offer for my current job last December, the first thing I was told is that I will be sent to Canada for a 2 weeks training. I loved travelling. I was overwhelmed and got so excited about it and has been thinking about it day in day night. Never in my life have I gone for a business trip.

Somehow things changed, there's new arrangement in my traning plan. Instead of me going, a trainer will be coming instead. Dreams shattered. But then, I was again scheduled to travel in April, postponed to August and to Nov because of lack of resources in the local office. I gave up...when it's time to go, I will be asked to go, I thought.

Now, guess what....I'll be off to London for 2 wks very soon!!! YAY!! For business of course but who cares!!

It has been approx 10 years (9 years and 6 mth to be precise) ever since I left that place after my graduation in June 1997.
Yes, I am excited to see how things has changed in London and for sure, I'll make a trip down to Portsmouth on the weekend and visit my old church friends that has been with me throughout my stay there. But then again, I wonder how many of them are still there........

:) I'm excited, I'm very excited:

-to meet colleague that I've been working with thru phone and email but not knowing how each other looks like.
-to be back to the place where I started to grow up independantly
-to wear winter clothe (have not been wearing it for long long time :( ) AND
-to do Christmas shopping over there!!

Update of "the" day

If you have been reading my previous post I spoke about my run 2 Sunday ago. I was saying that even a minute faster than the past is still an improvement.

Now....Guess what!!! I reached the finishing line at 1:16, 1 minute faster than my last run!!!!! Haiz....Toto also not so chun lah...I was hoping to complete below 1:15. Argh well....it's over.

At least, this time round, I no longer have the mental struggle of "why am I making myself doing such thing in an early Sunday morning", which is truely, seriously de-motivating on my 1st time. This time the struggle came when you just can't wait to reach the finishing line and that your leg is getting heavier and heavier. Your body started to give some warning, pain in the knee, pain in the butt, just don't feel comfortable anymore BUT it's still bearable. At this point of time, you probably need emotional strength as much as physical strength to keep you going. Usually happen to me after clocking abt 45 mins. Slowly, you see everybody running past you. And you started to take a quick peek behind, to see are there still people behind you. You just want to make sure that you're not the last to reach the finishing line. Luckily, there are many many more behind you and soon you realized that you're not that slow in actual fact :) muahahaha

One thing I realized though...is...do not judge a book by its cover. The plum and clumsy does not mean they can't run and the slim and "fit" looking doesn't mean they can run either. hehe....

So...at the end of 1:16:05 hr, this is what I get:

- 2 bananas
- 1 orange
- finisher medal (ONLY 10km FINISHER can get hor)
- learnt to endure pain and exhausion
- great sense of achievement

More to come on 3rd Dec...............................
